A geordie - almost as bad as being a "Monkey hanger". :-)
Jacqui - a "mackem" and proud of it .
When I first moved to the south my mum used to send my clippings from
the echo
about pubs being burnt out, riots in pennywell ( the estate got so bad
they renamed to try
and get rid of the stigma). These days I send her clippings about burnt
out vans, kids
driving lorries and cars into people and thier houses, kids being
attacked by pervies, piccies of
policemen being dragged through the town centre on the roof of a stolen
cars etc.
She now thinks Camberley is a far more dangerous place to live in than
Sunderland.
I think she may be right. The only good thing in Sunderland is that
crims are
actually scared of the police - on our estate it is the other way around
- police
do not turn up until they are sure the criminals have left. I have even
hread of
surrey police ringing up to confirm the burglars have left before
driving into the
road. A local milkman actually told them he had shot someone breaking
into his
shed because they told him they would not be able to get someone out for
at least
four hours when he reported two thugs trying to break into his shed with
crowbars.
They arrived in less that three minutes and managed to catch one of the
thugs breaking
into his shed. He was told off for "wasting police time" :-(
We now have three 8 stone GSD's, securty lights and still local thugs
"try thier luck".
Luckily, they have all been seen before getting into the garden and they
all managed to
escape the dogs - otherwise I expect the fuzz would be down here to
arrest the doggies :-)
