have you tried going to
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/sp4/default.asp
and downloading the service pack?
alternatively what about going to
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/?url=/technet/security/bulletin/MS
03-026.asp
which should take you to
http://microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=C8B8A846-F541-4C15-8C9F
-220354449117&displaylang=en
and just download the RPC fix.
i have actually always found windowsupdate.com to be pretty good. but i am
always up for a bit of m$ bashing ;-)

Subject: FN-FORUM: Blasted worm!
Hi everyone
Just back from holiday and found I had an infected win2k-pro PC!
I've been to the Microsoft window update site and can't seem to get the
update to work. It tells me which updates I need, then it goes through the
licensing agrrement, and then.....nothing.
Is it overloaded do you think?
I have manually removed the msblast.exe file, fixed the registry and the RPC
service.
Last time I tried using firewall software (Zone Alarm) it screwed up DWMX.
Maybe I need a separate firewall box now
Any ideas about how to make the Windows Update actually do anything?
Thanks
Nick
