Not sure on the 16 but all I used to do on my old 128 in 98 was bang in
startblaster from DOs and it went AOK!

| Hi Dan
|
| I'm not familiar with this actual card but it was normal in the simple
days
| of Ms-Dos to load hardware device drivers in the config.sys file. See if
| you can find a reference to that.

|
| Can anyone help me with this.......?
|
| I have this old game I want to play in DOS, but I can't get my soundcard
to
| work - it's a trusty old SoundBlaster 16 PCI - I have Win98SE, and I'm
using
| a DOS boot disk.
|
| I have this in my boot disk autoexec.bat....
|
| SET BLASTER=A220 I7 D1 H7 P330 T6
| SET SBPCI=C:\PROGRA~1\CREATIVE\CTSND\DOSDRV
|
| ......which is what the Creative webiste says I'm supposed to have.
|
| I'm supposed to, after booting to DOS, go to
| "c:\progra~1\creative\ctsnd\dosdrv"......and run "sbinit.com", to
initialise
| the card for DOS apparently - but when I run that, the comp just beeps and
| says "PCI device detect failed - audio driver not loading".
|
| I've done exactly as it said to do - anyone know how I can make this card
| work?
|
| cheers
|
| Dan.
|
| Oh and if you're wondering, the game is Flight of the Amazon Queen and is,
| by all accounts, a bastard to run on all newer machines.
