My partner is happly running XP Pro on a Dell Laptop, it's a Pentium III
700 with only 256MB, and its running IIS,PHP & MySQL as well as the
usual apps. It's a bit slow to boot, but you should be fine with 512MB
Not sure about overclockin the 800 to 1gig, you'd need pretty good
cooling and have to adjust FSB I think.
