I run W2K on a similar spec with no problems (although I have got a faster
chip on order ;-)
I recently used XP Home on a 1Gig machine and it was noticeably slower -
although admittedly with 256K RAM, but it was the newer faster sort. Make of
it what you will, but I prefer 2K over XP anyway...
