I wouldnt dare play WC3 on Modem.
I can barely playt Starcraft on High Latency with this setup.
Once I get ADSL in a few moths then by all means prepare for some Orcish
Gankage :p

| i'm running on a p3 450, overclocked to 504, 388mem and a geforce 2,
running
| at 1600x1024 / 32 , runs fine, XP (home and pro, they both the same minus
| the IIS on the home, but can be done with a bit of searching about) is
more
| memory intentive in that it needs 128 at least, and 256 makes it run a
fair
| more smoother, but 388 makes it run fairly smooth, so your 512 will be
| perfect, more memory the better, more ya can put in there the better your
| machine will run. (in one sense)
|
| Programs i have running pretty much 24/7 are : photoshop / textpad / sql /
| apache / php.
|
| Games wise, you arnt gonna stand a chance with any new games on a machine
| like that, mine can barely run the games that came out a year ago with any
| decent settings on it, can if i put it on fully down on everything, but
then
| it just doesnt look nice :)
|
| What you got there is a development machine and nada else, Diablo2 / UO
will
| run fine, Warcraft 3 will be ok, althrough online wise its gonna strugle a
| fair bit on big battles (online) gimmie a shout if you can run warcraft3
| with your new machine online in big battles, if ya can i'll go out and buy
| it tommorow :).
|
| Warcraft 3 wise i was on a modem at the time i tried it, so thats prolly
| most of the reason for the slow down on big battles.
|
| As for the overclocking, aint done it on anything higher than what i got
| here, but i guessing you proberly could, although you prolly be under
1gig,
| and would need some extra cooling.
