Re: FN-FORUM: Microcock / Linux / Ramblings of a fat man

I use Linux (RH/MDK/Slackware) on various machines at home all day.. I
use vmware to run windows if I need to (so I don't have to reboot, and
also provides me with as many testing environments as I could ever need)
I use smoothwall for my nat/firewall/gateway on an old P90..
I use various text editors for my development (mainly php/apache) and
mozilla (firebird) for my mail..
I find it more than useful for development and infinitely more stable
than any version of windows anybody could mention.
I wouldn't recommend it for *everyone* but for my personal use it is ideal.
I also do a *lot* of server maintenance.. and ssh/scp/nfs and vnc makes
administration *extremely* easy. (and yes, there are windows versions of
all those)
Cheers
