Hi Paul
If you are self employed, then for motor expenses you can claim a =
percentage
of all expenditure, based upon your business use vs your personal use. =
The
most common way of calculating this is to compare your business miles to
your total miles as a ratio. Make sure that it's reasonable.
General admin expenses that are wholly and exclusively used for business =
can
be claimed in full. If you have a single phone line that you use for
business and home use, don't claim the rental, only the business calls. =
If
you have two lines, then claim the rental on one and not on the other.
Inland Revenue will expect you to be paying at least one personal phone
rental.
