Is the groom a "pranks" kind of person? If not, skip pranks
altogether and just go for the good night out :) Otherwise silly
garments etc. A memorable one for me and some mates was when we held
a "Court" to try the groom for various crimes and misdemeanours in his
past. Sentencing was via drinking penalties (strangely enough) and
the groom got the chance to refute each accuser, so the accuser was at
risk too ;) Disorder in the court resulted in penalties all round.

As one of the protagonists was a lawyer, some suitable silly wigs and
gowns came into play ...

Places in Newcastle? Abandon him in the Bigg (sp?) Market? ;)
