RE: FN-FORUM: Help with mp3

Okay.... mp3s are data files and can only be burnt, as mp3s, onto a data CD
and not an audio CD.
if you want to burn mp3s onto an Audio CD (they become .cda files
automatically but take up a lot more space) no problem just use the wizard
in nero and drag them into whatever order you want.
if you want to burn them onto a data CD you'll have to create a playlist in
a text file listing each file name on a separate line in the order you want
them to play and burn that too. the text file should have the extension .m3u
(or .pls in some cases but .m3u is still more widely used)
the m3u would look some thing like:
digitalmotion2020.mp3
digitalmotionstars.mp3
digitalmotionstryke.mp3
matigflackjack.mp3
matigneedledamage.mp3
Now you just have the minefield of what will and won't play mp3 cds with a
playlist i.e. most players won't recognise playlist files so if it's for
anything other than your CD-Rom then forget it.
So after all that... I just add a number to the beginning of each filename
in the order I want them to play :)
cheers
neil.

Subject: FN-FORUM: Help with mp3
This is going to sound really dumb, but I know NOTHING about audio stuff
whatsoever.
How can I copy mp3s off an audio CD (made with Nero) on to the PC on order
to reorganise them and burn them on to different CDs?
How can I set the playlist order in Nero?
Thanks
