I've no problem here or at my client down the road on the (Ilford Broadband
gateway) other than high traffic, attempted hacks etc that everyone is
suffering from.
On the mail front I think BT were forced to re-configure their mailservers
a month or so ago to get them selves off a number of spam blacklists. The
upshot is that if your btopenworld then I think you should be using the
mail.btopenworld.com smtp server
I've not had any problems using this server on my BT ADSL connection since
we got connected last November
