No it doesn't.

I'm sorry to sound like a stuck record here but standards are nothing to
do with this - you could have perfectly standard code or code that
doesn't have a standards compliant tag in it and this issue would affect
them both.

This won't do that. Microsoft are not suddenly going to start making
their browsers behave all standards compliant overnight, at least not
because of this issue.

They are talking about changing the way IE embeds external objects -
maybe even removing the feature altogether.

And if they do it, then you can bet your life that eventually, Mozilla
and the rest of them will be forced to look at their own executions too.

Then there'll be lots of work stripping your embedded stuff out of
sites.
