If the restaurant is that arrogant to demand I dress up as well as pay to
eat there, I guess I wouldn't be going.
Similarly, I encountered the 'out of date' flash player issue so I guess I
won't be visiting that site. I'm not going to drop everything to install a
new player all because someone thinks their site is 'way cool'

There's only one response to this:
Boo.com
Who thought themselves so damn cool they didn't need to be accessible to
potential customers with money in their pockets who just didn't have the
right technology.
There are more than a few people in the 'new media' business who badly need
a course or two in sales and marketing.
