Register the number with the fax preference scheme, then get the bastards
fined up to 5,000 quid for spamming you.

Hi Guys,

Just wondering if any of you have any experience of changing your phone
number with ADSL installed.

More specifically, I'm getting a few nuisance fax calls for one day in
about 10 - 37 today between 2 and 5pm. I've pleaded with BT to make
them stop, but after 2 years of these things happening, I'm considering
giving in and having my number changed.

BT told me to check with my DSL provider that they would be ok with a
number change. Plus Net came back today to tell me they would charge me
a second activation fee, as it would effectively be having ADSL
re-installed on the new number. It's an office-500 package (20:1
contention), not that that should make any difference I would think.

Needless to say, I'm loathed to pay for a second installation of an ADSL
service I already have unless I definitely have no choice, so I wanted
to check if anyone else has had this experience.
