Yeah, me too -- I play sport with my right side and write with my left
hand. I fire a gun left-hand but shoot a bow right-hand. I'm probably
just confused.
It took a few weeks to become comfortable with mousing with either hand,
but think of the benefits: I can now mouse with one hand and write with
the other, or operate two computers via two mice simultaneously ;-) It
freaks some people out to see that.

If you get a support, make sure it's one of the foam ones with the
adjustable strap. They get uncomfortable after a few hours (the seam
"digs in" a bit) so the strap is important to reposition/loosen it.
