Hi Dom, thanks for the links, (I've seen the action group one a couple of
times but not read through it in detail....) The wireless trial I didn't
know about but I shall definitely read about it now...
And yup the place is all cabled up by NTL who don't offer a broadband
service - not sure why (but on my reading of the action group site tells me
NTL say "We are not allowed to dig up the roads: the council won't let us!"
They wire all the houses up with cable for the TV as soon as they're built
(for whatever reason some time ago a decision was made not to allow aerials
on houses in MK - though now you are allowed to put them in yourself at your
own cost.) NTL charge £2.77 a month for their cable service on the basis
that you get 2 exra channels - Sky1 and News24! Hahah!

I thought NTL had the place fully cabled. However this page:
http://www.bb4monkston.co.uk/
explains the situation a bit and may help you, Nita.
Tho' I'm not too sure about their technical knowledge:
"Now in 2003 we are lumbered with our fibre optic cable legacy".
There's also a wireless broadband trial - perhaps you can get on it?
