Standard IQ tests tend to give results that fit reasonably well to a=20
Gaussian or normal distribution, where the mode, mean and median=20
coincide. Of course, this might just be because they are designed to=20
give results in a normal distribution... and as you point out, you tend
to get "outliers" at one end of the scale and not the other.
