were very matter-of-fact about some things that was (quite obviously) false

Erm, isn't that what directX is all about ? The Xbox uses shared memory
for the graphics & the application, a bit like the "low-end" Intel

Linux ( not linus !) is not to be found anywhere on the (unmodded) Xbox
but if you care to Mod it then you'll get...
