2000 for me every time if possible
However, I always make sure I've got 2k drivers for all the hardware first. If not I replace old cards with 2k compatible ones
(Older Modems and Network Cards seem to cause the most problems without proper 2k drivers). I also unplug/uninstall any USB
stuff until I'm happy it's working Ok, then re-install these as required.
