RE: FN-FORUM: flash and visual basic error
date posted 8th January 2004 15:31
Dave,
Using VB6 SP5 and Flash (not sure what version of flash) my app has a
reference to Shockwave flash (~\macromed\flash\flash.oca)
The Shockwave flash ocx installed as a component (~macromed\flash\flash.ocx)
And a call is made thus:-
swf1.Movie = App.Path & "\static.swf"
I have the playing properties set to true
Very trivial app BUT works fine, client wanted a flash animation that played
while browser was loading a website! Like the IE spinning logo
Hope that helps

Dave,
Never tried Flash mx BUT I have written several VB6/Flash apps in the past
and they have worked OK! I'll have a look through my code base and see if I
still have one and send you details!

is not liking this... whenever i try to place an instance of flash onto a
form the IDE crashes with an application error saying the memory could not
be read.
anyone any ideas how to fix this? i'm on flash MX with VB6 sp5
