FN-FORUM: pinky & perky sound from laptop
date posted 8th January 2004 16:56
Hi all,
Strange one this, just thought i would see if anyone on the list had an
idea, before i flatten this system and start again.
Laptop with windows XP pro.
Completely patched up to date.
Some mp3's sound like pinky & perky, y'know speeded up a bit. (Is there a
technical term for this?)
Others sound okay.
Noticed the same problem with avi's. The avi is actually playing too fast.
Hence the sound is a bit wierd.
I have tried this using windows media player and real player, same both
times.
This has completely stumped me, the only thing i could think of that might
connect windows media and real player is a corrupt codec, but it happens on
avi's and mp3's (surely different codecs) Besides, I have been able to work
out how to un-install codecs anyway.
Any ideas appreciated...
cheers,
david.
