Yep, I got one of these calls this morning - but it fooled me for a minute as it
coincidentally was a similar publication to a genuine advert I had placed.

A colleague told me later that the give away is, at the beginning, "are you the proprietor" -
they have your address/phone from a directory or something, but do
not know who the boss is. If you say "no I'm not" they then try to fool
you into paying, with "well, the boss has agreed this advert and we need
to check details and get payment" or whatever.

I said yes (to proprietor) but she still tried it on with a "thank you for your order" etc
