RE: FN-FORUM: Oscommerce installation

date posted 9th January 2004 15:42

I wasn't meaning to install on a test server and then transfer over (though
I'm sure you could), what I was meaning was just have a run through the
install pages so you get an idea of what's happening with a box right in
front of you. The installation is really quick (only about 5-10mins) so i
wouldn't take to long. I'm working on a customised version of osCommerce
for a client at the mo and I'm doing the developing/design on my machine and
then copy across altered files to the live server. The products and the
database I'll enter directly into the live server, I don't fancy exporting
the database from my server and then trying to install it into the live
server (though I'm sure that one could do something like this - I just can't
be bothered working it out now) I just wish ZenCart was a bit further along
and then I could use that but such is life!
Still, it's nearly beer time y'all!
Chris

didn't read this first. I would just run the install with the config info it
requests followed by a test drive and then see what happens. All that will
possibly need tweaking is the paths (config file)depending upon the PHP
config
but that is the best plan of action, major problem would be better addressed
on
the oscomm forum, they're a very helpful and friendly bunch
