RE: FN-FORUM: Broadband Networking / Firewall advice please
date posted 11th January 2004 16:49
I would use eclipse instead of BT, cheaper and better support.
As for the networking side, buy a cheap old PC (very low spec) and put =
ipcop
on it (www.ipcop.org), the software is free and acts as a firewall & =
router.
Then just a couple of network cards for each of your client PC's =
(oh...and
one for the firewall) and a cheap hub/switch.
There ya go....2 networked PC's on the net with a firewall
HTH

Subject: FN-FORUM: Broadband Networking / Firewall advice please
I am looking to connect 2 pc's to a new BT Broadband connection and =
include
a harwdare firewall in there somewhere.
Any advice (for a networking novice) would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Stewart
