FN-FORUM: Shopping carts, secure servers & CC transactions

Could anybody give me any pointers to get up to speed with setting up an
existing site for e-comm. What is the procedure? Gather info over an SSL
connection then move on to the credit card transaction? Are there companies
that can do it all ie: provide the SSL, cert & card transactions?
