I hate to say it but the obvious solution here is Access. I have a site
that I have inherited with which the client updates an Access db
(including storing images) which is then uploaded enmass to the MySQL db
on the webserver... images go into the database as BLOB fields (binary
data) and are therefore preserved along with the relevant metadata.
