Re: FN-FORUM: So, exactly what is web design? was: Full-time designer needed

Wish I'd checked my email yesterday to join in this thread, where is the
jumped up arse that started it anyway?

I do consider myself a designer but have no formal qualifications, just
14 years graphic design experience and have got jobs over graduates and
trained them, does that make me not a real designer?

I admit there is web designers out there cheaper than me with no design
skills but they are the first to admit that, and if the client wants a
mediocre designed but functional website then that's fine, I won't
compromise on design for a cheap job. They see the portfolio, they know
what they're getting, I'm not saying I'm better or worse than anyone
else, just different.

19k not bad for a junior, he's got to remember that's in London and you
don't get that everywhere. Did make me wonder what salary i could
command these days though

Lindsey
