Hi Luke - .NET magazine did an article along these lines a few months back.
Several web designers were given the same brief to design a pub/restaurant
website. Each designer had to describe the processes they went through to
deliver the site and show the finished design. I can certainly remember that
every site was radically diferent and more than one of them had bought a 3rd
party design template. To be fair though, there were some difficult
restrictions on the brief - a tiny budget and a 1 day timescale (sounds
familiar ;). Apart from this the brief was deliberately loose, so I guess
not strictly relevant to your idea.
