I know you will all be on tenderhooks so an update.

Went to PC World and was duely fleeces for a tube of coolmaster premium
thermal compound (=A36 or so I think), but since it was the only thing =
they
had and was the last one there I had little choice.

Then spent 5 minutes while the checkout person tried to workout how to =
enter
an address that does not have a street name but eventually I left the =
shop
paste and vat receipt in hand.

Pant peeing time to again remove the damn clips, but if in doubt get a
larger screwdriver.

Clip removed, heatsink cleaned (but I did refrain from using the machine
machine on fast spin). Paste applied and smoothed and smoothed and =
smoothed
etc. Clip back on, getting a dab hand at that now that I have a big =
enough
screwdriver.

Machine powered on, temp 29... Yipee.... Oh bugger temp crawling up not =
at
the rate it was but still up.

After typing this (on another machine) the temp is now 36 but still
increasing a little, the room is 23.7 so that may be expected, machine =
has
at least now been on for longer than previously possible.

So will now sit and wait for the damn thing to cut out or not before
actually doing anything on it., damn jumped to 37.5 but then again the =
mobo
is now at 31 so not that much difference.

Oh the tension.
