FN-FORUM: Any hackers here?

OK, before you start wondering, my mother has just had Tiscali
broadband installed and I want to be able to check the security
remotely to check that she has a firewall installed.

Ideally I need some sort of port scanner to scan her IP address to see
if any of the ports are open.

I have tried to get her to run Shields Up remotely, but I think it was
all too much for her. Also installing her broadband has killed her
phone line (2 more weeks to fix) and mobile reception by her computer
is poor to non existent.

Any pointers would be appreciated.
