No-one seems to know what "broadband" means any more. Over the last few
years, it seems to have come to mean any kind of high-speed internet
connection. I shouldn't be surprised to find someone describing (say) a
100baseT network connection as broadband these days, which it certainly
isn't, and I'm sure I've heard wireless network connections described as
"broadband", though I don't believe that's generally accurate either.
I've never had cable and don't know how cable modems work, but ADSL
certainly is a broadband technology.
