RE: FN-FORUM: Content Management etc

I agree with Aaron's comment about a CMS system being the way to go. If
money is too tight to mention, you could look at Mambo at
http://www.mamboserver.com/ I haven't used it myself, but have heard that
it's decent. Telerik is another one, but that is not open source.
Your desserts have one s too many, by the way (sorry, couldn't help
noticing).
Kind regards
Lindsay

Subject: FN-FORUM: Content Management etc
A client has just called me to ask if I'd be interested in sorting out a web
site for a client of theirs. Not yet spoken to their client (unavailable at
the mo), but my understanding is they want to be able to make updates to
menus on the site themselves (it's a hotel/restaurant) and the incumbent
designer isn't responding to requests for assistance.
I've thought of three options :
1. Simple mods are made to the site by us based around a maintenance
contract we always offer clients
2. Run menus from a database with the client adding/removing items and
uploading database via FTP
3. CMS
In order to have a bit of a 'heads up' on this one, I'm wondering if anyone
can give any basic advice regarding CMS (if that's going to be appropriate
in this case). Not really got involved in that side of things yet, so not
sure where to start.
The site can be viewed in all its glory at
http://www.crouch-valley-motel.co.uk/EnglishIndex.htm
Any advice on this would be much appreciated :-)
TIA
Kerry
