FN-FORUM: Dial up via ISDN
date posted 15th August 2004 09:52
Dunno if anyone can make any recommendations here. A client is unable to
get ADSL at their premises and are currently using a BT ISDN (128k I
believe) connection. At present they're connecting to AOL and paying a
monthly fee. They reckon they don't pay any call costs on the ISDN
connection, although AFAIK there is a call charge involved (BT's Office
Highway seems to have different tariffs, some of which include a certain
amount of call costs).
They want to move away from AOL and just use a dial-up ISP that doesn't
charge a fee. We tend to recommend Fasthosts Dial in these situations
(local rate call and that's it), however they can only connect to Fasthosts
Dial by using one channel of the ISDN, thus only getting half the speed.
Does anyone know of any dial-up ISPs that do provide a two channel
connection and don't charge any fees?
TIA
Kerry
