FN-FORUM: flash mx help please

hello

i have been putting somemock ups together here:

using flash mx - which i have only just stared using - if you click th
ecredits section - i have made a scrollable text area using the input text
feature plus a scroll bar - i am not happy for a number of reasons - you
cannot create rollovers using this technique as far as i know

so

i decided that i would make the content an instance and try to get this to
go in the scrollable area - and i can have rollovers etc .. in this instance

i read an article here:

which works fine - however the scrollable area comes out white whereas i
want it to be transparent - why ? and furthermore how can i make it
transparent

or should i be using a totally different method altogether

i shall look on google but just in case anyone knows a simple answer - i
would be very grateful
