Its all B2B - the CD is published as a means to send postal mailings to the
companies so the recipients have previsouly agreed to have there details
published in this way and will expect to recieve 'on topic' (postal) mail.
I'm with you on what you said - and company image and respectability is
paramount however, this is balanced against maybe getting a few thousand
more people to signup for the newsletter for later conversion into sales!
Leased line, own mail server, ISP Worldcom don't bother us much.
If I cant send unsolicited mail then how are you supposed to 'solicit' in
the first place? Surely a single friendly email with zero followup would be
ok???
