I've been away from this list for the last 6 months or so. Great to see
most of the same characters still around and some new ones! And the Wiki
is a neat idea!

I missed the introduction of the Wiki, so I'm not 100% sure of the aim
of the Wiki but is "The official freelancers.net really useful links
thread" something that is appropriate for this Wiki? The last version I
have is v1.5 (December 2002! - does anyone remember it), not sure if its
still appropriate. Anyway, I'm going off topic already :-o

I'm trying to win a tender (specifically requesting small businesses to
apply). Needless to say in the past I haven't bothered much; I didn't
think the odds were in favour of one man bands. The areas I need help on
are:

1. Procedures to be followed in an emergency

2. Procedures for reporting and recording accidents, diseases and
dangerous occurrences

3. First Aid and Welfare provisions

I have googled and find the HSE website to be quite useful (particularly
this page - http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/index.htm). This
(http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg347.pdf) seems to be exactly what I
need to help me with point 1 above. Although I'm not sure, is there
anything else we should be concerned about in our relatively risk free
environment?

Regarding point 2 I found http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/misc310.pdf, and
http://www.riddor.gov.uk/. But neither of them are really procedures!

I'm totally lost on point 3.

Does anyone have these, could send me a copy off list or know where I
can look? And if you can't I hope you find the above links useful. ;-)

Having recently started employing staff, this is an area I need to
address anyway (tender or no tender), so any help or advice appreciated.
