Hi Dan,
I think I misread you question. If you want the background image to
stay in a fixed position, offset from the left by a specific amount,
then try this:
body{
background: White url(foo.gif) no-repeat fixed top 200px;
}
Don't know how valid it is. But it works in IE5 (MAC).
