FN-FORUM: OT - claiming against unknown drivers
date posted 6th January 2005 16:58
Is there a mechanism for recovering uninsured losses from drivers that
don't stop?
got a £250 excess to pay following someone's bodged attempt at parking in
the same space that I was parked (new door skin and wing required) ( I
think they wanted the space next to me, but misjudged the width or angle
or something...)
I've paid for uninsured loss recovery, but it seems unlikely if the other
driver (no note, no witnesses) isn't ever found, but is it worth asking
the insurance company to try? is there some sort of hit and run fund that
they can claim against?
I'm only asking because I know you lot are good at this kind of stuff.
TIA
