perhaps it's time that the FN mailing list had an "activate your
subscription" mail to stop people being subbed against their wishes and
maybe it's also time that the FN forum dropped the pretence of being a
*forum* (in many people's eyes a web based bulletin board) and made itself
clearly known as a mailing list in all references on the site.
