gah - look where the dimm slot is - right on the side. they could have
put some sort of side panel on to make it user accessible for upgrade.
the side panel, of course, would have damaged the aesthetic integrity
of the case though. :)

i guess their logic with the mini's (and ipods) is you're buying an
appliance and you don't need to know how it works and you should be
keeping your grubby little mitts out of it...

still, look how efficient they've been with the use of space on the
mobo - erm, logic board. vertically mounted cmos batteries and all. i
know mr ives gets all the credit, but i hope apple's hardware design
engineers get a gift basket of cookies from time to time as well. the
cooling systems on the g5s and g5 xserves are really pretty clever too.
