Re: FN-FORUM: Transfer of Copyright

date posted 18th January 2005 13:49

That's all I want to know. Is there anything I should be including on the
document or can it be a simple 'As from date all rights of copyright
relating to x are hereby transferred to client name etc etc' and both
parties sign and date?

Copyright exists whether or not you go posting things to yourself.

By posting a copy to yourself in accordance with these guidelines:
http://www.mpaonline.org.uk/faqs/protect.html
*all* you are doing is creating evidence that a piece of work was in
existence at a certain date. After all, you could do this with someone
else's work just as easily as with your own!

I love the idea of the Queen's head having something to do with it,
but, errr, no.

And none of this has got anything to do with transfer of copyright,
which I imagine could be dealt with satisfactorily by a very simple
document signed by both parties.
