FN-FORUM: just moaning
date posted 21st January 2005 15:15
Hi all... everything calmed down yet???
Just having a general moan about clients really since I am sat here on
my own.
I have this particular client who I am doing their site for, plus some
business cards, which is ongoing at they are a printers I do the
artwork for them for a few things.
Anyway the website should have been finished before xmas, but since
they keep saying they will supply me with the final copy and images to
use every other day but nothing arrives it is still not finished and I
haven't seen any payment on the invoice of work done so far...so still
waiting.
I am supposed to be off sick for two weeks as I had major ear surgery
last week, the above client know this however they still persisted in
emailing me a few times asking me when I could do their business card
artwork, then this week it was "where is the original artwork we gave
you we need it for colour matching", I said I had given it back ages
ago, they said I didn't...but low and behold it's suddenly turned up on
their desk this morning.
I have been freelancing for over a year now, and when I get chance to
do any marketing and design work in between looking after my two year
old monkey, it's slowly picking up but still only seem to make enough
money to cover the endless standing orders that go out of my business
account every month...no profit...and if I earn anymore the benefit
people will take it off me anyway, so am wondering if I am better off
sitting at home twiddling my thumbs, at least then I don't have to deal
with clients.
When does it actually become worthwhile in terms of profit making????
what is the general consensus?? or is it completely down the luck and
the individual?
Just pondering whether to get a ongoing part time job, instead of the
temp work every so often.. oh decisions!!! not another one.
Moan moan moan....
