Re: FN-FORUM: just moaning

Debi
I started my business in 2002 and do very little advertising or marketing
(though I should). My business still doesn't make a profit as such, but I do
manage to take a wage each month (sometime larger than others).
Within my second year my turnover doubled (though still not a huge amount I
hasten to add) and I am now in my 3rd year and turnover has already
increased again.
I don't do 'freelancing' as such but any type of self employment takes time
to establish and make any profits. All I can say is that I am still going
after nearly 3 years and things are improving all the time but it isn't an
easy ride by any means. Saying that though I would not go back to working
for someone else unless I really had to. I have also been lucky enough to
make contact with 2 marketing companies who I develop websites for which has
also helped financially and I doubt I would be doing so well on the money
front without their work coming in as well.
What you need to do is assess your priorities and your goals in life and go
from there really. Otherwise I would say it is more to do with luck on my
part, which makes a change.
Hope it gives you something to think about.
Emma
