Just keep it simple, straight and open. Frinstance...
Artwork for 3 business cards =A3XXX. Assumes repro quality images and
graphics are supplied. Includes one set of copy amends. Further amends
and/or additional work charged at =A3XX per hour (...or may be quoted
separately).
The clients who want to shaft you will be put off and go elsewhere, so good
riddance. The fair ones will see the extra time/cost involved once it's
explained to them and won't mind paying.
Some clients are out to screw you, others simply don't appreciate the time
and effort that goes into our work. In this instance, perhaps give him the
benefit of the doubt - be open with him and explain your situation. Possibl=
y
give him this job as quoted, but say next time round you'll need to charge
for the additional work.
