Re: FN-FORUM: Google Adwords [Slightly OT]

Jonathan,
One thing I have found, is that for many keywords where you specify an
exact match for a location or something, for instance "logo design
cheshire" ggl will estimate a click cost of say 4p, but when you check
the listings on ggl, even if you search for exactly the right phrase,
you find your listing well down the page, with ones above which are
targetting generic terms such as just .
What I am trying to say here is...
a) ggl quotes 4p for "logo design cheshire"
b) for say "cheap logo design" ggl quotes 50p
c) you set 50p as your limit for both
d) because people are paying £2 for a generic
e) you end up paying 50p for even the 4p term as it is in competition
with much higher paying generic terms.
Not sure if this kind of scenario affects you, but it is worth
considering before banking on ggl only charging you 4p for the 'cheaper'
terms.
Cheers,
Chris.
