FN-FORUM: one for the server experts

Just got this from one of my clients - I don't manage their servers so
technically it's nothing to do with me - he's just panicing and looking
for help.. but not sure what to advise him..

Our Intranet server was being worked on yesterday by a Track-IT
consultant. When the server rebooted we were unable to log on to the
domain! Strange! There were problems with DNS that may we thought may
have caused this which we resolved, however we were still unable to log
on using Domain Admin. The next step was to log on using local
admin.... there lies the next issue! For some reason (and yes we know
what the password should be!!), the local admin account will not log on
either. Do you have any clues?

One option is to reinstall W2003 on the server and try and preserve the
data. I know this would also leave us with work to do in order to get
it back as a web server... any support you can offer would be greatly
appreciated. Please let me know and I will give you a call to discuss.

any ideas? if he has to re-install then I'll have to go down and
re-install all my intranet software... which is more hasle than it's worth..
