FN-FORUM: XML encoding problem

Hi all,

Looking for a little help if anyone could be so kind. I am pulling the
following feed

http://www.channelregister.co.uk/excerpts.rss

Which works fine except that I am then trying to convert encoding from =
UTF-8
to iso-8859-1 using php's iconv() function and it keeps objecting to an
invalid character in the input. The code works fine, but the consistent
errors in my logs are annoying me so I would like to stop it. Is this =
feed
genuinely valid (validates with various feed validation sites) or is it
valid except for encoding? If it is valid, is the problem in the php
function or my understanding?

Any help appreciated.
