Re: FN-FORUM: Photo quality problem
date posted 27th July 2005 19:02
Feel free to send me a copy of some images, as Photoshop is the main area o=
f
what I am doing - I am not sure about the 1DS camera but the 20D which I
have which is 1 or 2 steps down, has multiple focus points and this is wher=
e
the autofocus keys in on - if this is set incorrectly it would explain the
out of focus problem - flare could be a cause of the paleness of the photos
and may actually trick the camera in terms of focusing - but it is unlikely
to be cheap third party lenses, I don=B9t know what equipment he is using but
he should look at
Tripod (even slight camera shake may be to blame for the focus)
Remote shutter
Wide ange lens
As narrow an aperture as poss to maximise front to back sharpness
A manual light meter
You can also look at the histogram on the camera back to look at exposure
control
If the pictures are crap, and you seem to think that they are - you/he
should reallly think about reshooting - but spend a bit of time doing some
test shots, using a light meter, and a wide angle lens and assessing the
results before doing the whole lot
If you are looking for a cheapish photographer in the London area, let me
know as I know quite a few that would be happy to discuss it further
Hope this helps and please feel free to contact me direct
