RE: FN-FORUM: PCI DSS Merchant Compliance

Hi,
Sorry, I inferred (incorrectly !) that you meant that you could use =
mozilla thunderbird from the server to generate the PGP messages ! We're =
.NET based so the PHP route is not good for us, but the principle is the =
same - encrypted from when it leaves the client's browser to when it =
arrives at the recipients email client. At *some* point in the chain it =
has to be in plain text (i.e., when it arrives at the processing script) =
so that it can be reencrypted.
The version of PGP that I use is an older one that doesn't require a =
commercial server licence. Why is it that clients that are spending =
=A310K+ on a development won't want to secure their payments using a =
"proper" payment provider ! Clients eh ?!=20
Cheers
Andy

Is that something that you can do from within script ?
It's the web server that has to get the CC details by SSL / HTTPS, build =
the email, encrypt it (via whatever method). No human intervention.=20

You can also use Mozilla thunderbird with the Enigmail component with =
GnuPG (for PGP key pairs) installed. In fact Thunderbird beats most =
email clients hands down - IMHO.

I use the PGP encryption provided by Jmail. You need to have Jmail 4 =
installed and PGP - I use version 6.5 which is an earlier "free" one =
before it was bought out by Network Associates (I think).=20

Thanks for all the input people this is great! And helpful as this =
effects all of our work as new media designers.
{{Question}}
what is PGP encryption, and how can I implement this into the process?
(is it something my hosting company has to do?)
Thanks
Craig
