I didn't know that and I have a box on my network running Linux so I shall
use that in the future for initial testing at least.

Hi,
the Konqueror browser that comes with most Linux distributions (as
part of KDE) uses the same codebase as Safari. Later versions should
render pages practically identically, afaik. Most current Linux
distributions should have a copy of this.
